An indie recording artiste, producer and songwriter out of the budding city of Port Harcourt called 4runna delivers an energetic tailor-cut afrobeat record in “Say”.Working with Frequent collaborator L.T and up and coming producer Kresh Maejor, the trio manage to effortlessly combine the key elements of their artstry to bring about a solid and well put together record.
‘Say’ is an infectious bop laced in melody, characterized by drums that resonate the message of 4Runna and L.T.
The track queries the listener’s recognition of ‘nice songs’, and their reluctance to accord it priority. It seeks an end to that by consistently releasing more ‘nice songs’, with hopes that for once, the recognition of making good music would translate to numbers out here. 4Runna spits ‘I want the streams, the whole Damn river, I need the numbers…’ all in a bid to let the audience know that despite the drive to create timeless music, the hunger for doing numbers/sales is not lost on him. Frequent collaborator L.T comes through on the joint, taking the beat by the balls and bringing color and spice to the track.
