AFRO-R&B WITH A TWIST: KAESA’S “I DON’T THINK I LOVE YOU” CONFRONTS AWKWARD LOVE

Kaesa, a talented singer and songwriter with roots in Nigeria and Ghana, has always let her passion for music guide her journey. From performing on Ghana’s biggest children’s talent show, “Talented Kidz” at just 8 years old to leading her church choir and an all-girls band in school, music has been her constant companion.

Years of covers and quiet dedication led to her 2023 debut single, “Wonderful”, which climbed past 10,000 Spotify streams, proving her voice was meant to be heard.

Now, she’s back with “I Don’t Think I Love You”, a fearless Afro-R&B confession about love that just… isn’t there.

The song captures that awkward moment when affection feels more like an obligation. Over smooth rhythms and sharp lyrics, “When you put hand for my waist / I dey look you like you craze”, Kaesa spells out the truth. Sometimes, even the sweetest partner can’t spark a connection. “We didn’t want another typical love story,” she says. “This is for anyone who’s been in that spot but stayed quiet.”

Its fearless honesty sets “I Don’t Think I Love You” apart. Instead of pretending or settling, Kaesa chooses truth, even if it means delivering hard truths. The song balances honesty with humour, turning an uncomfortable realisation into something liberating.
