Cyani is a 22 year old female artist based in Canada. She was born in Cameroon where she grew up. She later moved to Canada where she now resides . Her experiences in these different parts of the world has shaped her to be the kind of artist she is today. She cultivated her love for making music in the midst of the pandemic back in 2020. She is known for her captivating freestyles to popular songs of various genres on social media which caught the attention of artists like Fireboy DML, Libianca and Minz to name a few.
Just days after announcing that she will be an opening artist for Ruger in the city of Montréal on the 9th of June, she has dropped a new song called ‘Criminal’, a smooth Afro R&B/dancehall influenced track which brings a refreshing and unique sound. The meaning behind the song is doing everything, even the worst things possible for the sake of love – “love me like a Criminal”. Criminal also has a music video with a unique and addictive aesthetic which complements and elevates the track.
